Where To Stay In Paris
Where To Stay In Paris

Vacationing in Paris. Where to stay?

My fiance and I are planning a trip to Paris for Spring 2010. I have been looking for hotels, but haven’t had much luck finding that perfect, not outrageously priced hotel, close to everything that we are looking to do. We are open to staying in districts 1,2,3,4,6 & 9. Any suggestions for hotels in those areas. We would ideally like to keep it under $200 USD per night but would like a room with atleast a queen bed (king would be perfect), included breakfast, wifi & elevator. Something close to a train station would be preferred as well as we will not be renting a car. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I believe that you should increase the budget for that. An hotel room like the one you are looking for might be 300/500 dollars per night. You can find one in Hotel Geroge V or Hotel Ritz or the like.
I would suggest you instead of an hotel room to rent an apartment in Paris. This is the last fashion in Paris and there are several companies that are renting furnished apartments for short periods (minimum three nights).
This will give you the opportunity to live the city as if you were a citizen of it and will allow, even when it is a studio to cook your own breakfast.
Also I would take an apartment in Montmartre with a view. I believe there is nothing more romantic then being in Montmartre where great artists such as Picasso and Monet have worked and lived and see from your windows the entire city shining at night (you will understand why they call it city of lights). Montmartre is very well served by the metro and you can reach with few metro stations any other touristic site from there.
Here is the link to the site of the company I always use to rent apartments in Paris http://www.paris-apartment-rent.com/index.html. They have several apartments with a view on Montmartre.
